Every two years, elections are held in Area 1 to elect people to the following positions: Chairperson, Treasurer, and Secretary.
In 2023, the Election Results are as follows:
Chair Elect: Greg Urban. Chair-elect serves for 2 years and then moves to Chair for 2 years and ends as Past-Chair for another 2 years. This is a 6-year commitment. We welcome Greg to the board, and are excited for him to share his knowledge, perspective, and handbell experience. Jenn Stack will succeed Lisa Arnold as chair. Lisa Arnold will (return) to being past chair, and we thank her very much for the extra time she has given as chair to keep our board filled.
Secretary: Harriet Forman. The Secretary takes notes at board meetings and keeps all information filed and stored electronically. Harriet will continue as treasurer for the next two years.
Treasurer: Lauren Larson. Treasurer of Area 1 handles all financial transactions and reports to the board regularly. Lauren will continue as treasurer for the next two years.
A huge thank you to all of the candidates. Sometimes it takes a lot just to offer to volunteer, and even those who don’t win the election are often involved in many other ways already, dedicating some portion of their life to the handbell community.
